With over 15 years of experience in the Canadian art world, Christine Griffiths brings a deep and dynamic understanding of fine art and valuation. Her diverse career has included roles at prestigious institutions such as the Art Gallery of Ontario, Creative Spirit Art Centre, Gallery 133, and as Associate Director at Fischtein Fine Art. Christine also served as the Toronto Representative for BYDealers Auction House, connecting collectors with museum-quality Canadian and international works. She is currently an Associate with Helen Griffiths & Associates, Fine Arts—an established art consulting firm serving clients for over 40 years.
Christine is a qualified personal property appraiser, professionally trained in appraisal theory, methodology, ethics, and law. Her reports adhere to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and meet the rigorous Appraisal Report Writing Standards of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), North America’s leading appraisal organization.
Holding a BA from the University of Western Ontario, Christine possesses extensive knowledge of both historical and contemporary Canadian and international art. Her appraisal training at ISA focused on the ethical, legal, and theoretical foundations of appraising, along with advanced research, valuation, and writing techniques.
In addition to her appraisal credentials, Christine is also a trained art therapist. She offers a unique advantage in understanding the deeper personal and cultural value of artwork. This perspective allows her to approach each appraisal with sensitivity and precision—particularly beneficial in complex contexts such as estate, donation, or family division.
